Elsa’s Restaurant is named after Elsa Göransson who worked as the caretaker for Kebnekaise Mountain Station for almost 30 years.
During her time at the station in the 1930’s to the 1960’s all the guests dined at long tables together swapping stories, tips and ideas about their previous excursions. As the station didn’t have the possibility to use helicopter or snow mobiles for transports that we use today they had to prepare the food to last. The preparations included for example pickling and drying of the food and this has inspired us to prepare and serve the food in the same style.
Every evening a meal is served. A buffet for starter with pickled and dried options, fish or meat as the main course and a dessert to end the meal. Vegetarian dinner options is a given. Please advise us of any allergies at the time of booking, write a note under the message/wishes to Kebnekaise.
