About the accommodation

STF Abiskojaure lies in the Abisko National Park by the clear mountain lake Abiskojaure. The cabin is close to a family-friendly sandy beach with shallow water – perfect for a refreshing dip.

A shallow, child-friendly beach invites you for fresh dip in clear mountain water.

Many hikers stay several nights in Abiskojaure and do day tours. Alpine tours to Kartinvare Peak and an outing to Råvvetievvakakåtorna, located a few hours away, are popular tours. Close to the cabin is Bunkerhöjden, a fortification from the days of the Swedish military. The place was included in the system to defend the Malmbanan railway line. The shelter and the shields buried in the ground can still be studied.

This is how it works in a mountain cabin
Our mountain cabins offer a simple and authentic stay in multi-bedded rooms with self catering. The rooms are different sizes with bunk beds and usually heated by gas stoves. On site you will be greeted by a cabin manager. As a guest you chop wood, fetch water from the stream or lake, wash up and clean up after youself.
