About the accommodation

The mountain cabin is located at the foot of Mount Äijvisåive, a holy mountain for the Sámi people. Its closeness to Ammarnäs makes the cabin a popular goal for day trips. The beautiful view and a wood-fired sauna attract not only local residents but also tourists to the cabin.

This mountain cabin accepts payment by Swish and by card but also bring some cash with you on your hike. Telecommunications do not always work in the mountains.
 
Located near to a small lake with a view of the Ammar mountains, STF Aigert is the first mountain cabin on Kungsleden between Ammarnäs and Hemavan.

A given day tour is up the steep Stor-Aigert, the highest peak in the immediate surroundings. From here, look out over the expansive Vindelfjäll Nature Reserve to the west, where it rolls onward over bog, forest, lake and mountain.
 
This is how it works in a mountain cabin
Our mountain cabins offer a simple and authentic stay in multi-bedded rooms with self catering. The rooms are different sizes with bunk beds and usually heated by gas stoves. On site you will be greeted by a cabin manager. As a guest you chop wood, fetch water from the stream or lake, wash up and clean up after youself.

Food and equipment for outdoor activities are sold in the shop. The range of goods differs from facility to facility.

STF Aigert Mountain Cabin is located along the Kungsleden trail, about 8 km southwest of Ammarnäs.

To reach Ammarnäs, take the train to Umeå and then the regional bus with Länstrafiken to Ammarnäs. If you are travelling by car, parking is available in Ammarnäs.
