About the accommodation

STF Alesjaure is STF’s largest mountain cabin. It sits on a hill with sweeping views over the Kungsleden trail between Abisko and Kebnekaise.

There are three cabins with a total of 78 beds. Each cabin has one ten-bed room, four four-bed rooms, a drying room and a large shared kitchen. One of the cabins has rooms where dogs are welcome.

A separate building houses the reception, a well-stocked shop, a common room, a conference area and the cabin host’s living quarters.

There is no mobile coverage at the cabin, but the host has a phone. If you need to make a call, you can buy call time.

STF Alesjaure is located along the Kungsleden trail on the Abisko – Nikkaluokta section. The cabin is most easily reached from one of the nearby cabins on the Kungsleden trail, STF Abiskojaure to the north or STF Tjäktja to the south. The cabin is also connected to STF Unna Allakas, which is 14 km northwest of Alesjaure, and to STF Vistas, which is 18 km southwest of Alesjaure.

Abisko is a suitable starting point for a hike or ski trip to Alesjaure. Expect 2 days of hiking or skiing from Abisko to Alesjaure.

The easiest way to get to Abisko is by taking a train or bus from Kiruna. If you are taking your own car, there is a long-term car park at the railway station near STF Abisko Tourist Station. Read more about how to get to Abisko: www.swedishtouristassociation.com/abisko

The Kungsleden trail toward Alesjaure starts about 300 meters from the bus stop, railway station and car park in Abisko.
