Check-in is from 17.00-19.00 (5pm). If arrival is after 18.00 (6pm) we must be informed so that we can guarantee your reservation.
 
It is easy to get the feeling of being welcomed at Backåkra Youth Hostel! Families, couples and friends all mingle around, in a nice and relaxed atmosphere. The obvious centre being the beautiful garden, where the guests often spend the long, beautiful summer evenings. Backåkra hostel lies in a unique position in the middle of the spectacular landscape. The pleasant and clean rooms range in size, and there are well-equipped kitchens and a lovely garden with a barbecue.
 
At Backåkra Youth Hostel we do not offer luxury or expensive design. Instead we have created a special atmosphere with the help of vintage and second hand goods, for example recycled furniture. The many carefully thought-out details are what makes the hostel so unique and welcoming.
 
Next to the garden is a play area with plenty of room to run around, and 2 smaller soccer goals. There is also an outdoor table-tennis table for everyone, regardless of age.
 
In the garden there is a sandbox and toys for our youngest guests, as well as some swings. While enjoying their dinner in the garden, the parents can supervise their children playing.
 
Our breakfast buffet has become almost legendary, according to our guests! Home-baked bread, together with other home-made specialties, served in a loving surrounding, make people come back for more, year after year.
 
The hostel is near the mythical Ales stenar (Ales rocks), the medieval castle Glimmingehus and one of Sweden’s most beautiful sandy beaches that offer swimming until September. You can reenergize simply by experiencing the sheer quietness of the area, or exploring the surroundings by foot or bicycle.
