About the accommodation

Norra Öland is known for its beautiful long sandy beaches, raukar and ancient remains. There are also excursion destinations such as the magical Trollskogen, Rosendal’s Iron Age village, Neptuni fields, the Långe Erik lighthouse, Källa ödekyrka and Böda kronopark.

Böda Kronopark is best explored on foot or by bike. Also, don’t miss a day out on Blå Jungfrun, a mythical island out in Kalmarsund. The island has been a landmark for sailors for a long time and attracts nature enthusiasts with its peculiar nature and isolated location. Today, the entire island is a protected national park. Day trips by boat leave from Byxelkrok harbour. Another nice day trip is to go south to charming and lively Borgholm. A visit to Solliden and the castle ruins is also not to be missed. Norra Öland simply offers rich opportunities for both active days and relaxation.

The quiet cottage village of Böda hostel is close to many nice experiences and consists of twenty-one small cottages and a service house located on a large green area. There is neither camping nor pitches here. Within one kilometer of the cottage village, you will find several restaurants, a homely bakery, and a grocery store. If you fancy a swim, some of Sweden’s most beautiful beaches are a short distance away, and in the small harbor which is located within a kilometer you can take the most beautiful morning and evening dip from the jetty.

The detached cottages are simple and functional and perfect for couples, friends, and families. There are both two-bed and four-bed cabins and all have their own toilet, comfortable beds, electricity and running hot and cold water. There is a dining area both inside the cabin and directly outside. In the service house located on the plot, you will find a well-equipped kitchen with stoves and refrigerators as well as showers.

Böda Hostel is conveniently located next to route 136, which runs along the entire island and the bus stop is just outside. The opening hours are from Midsummer to August. If you are a larger group, it is also possible to book in the period from May up to and including September. Maybe you want to gather the association, the family, or the company? Then this could be the perfect place. Welcome with your request!

The hostel is located approx. 10 km north of Löttorp, approx. 500 m south of Böda church on Öland.

By train & bus
Take the train to Kalmar. From Kalmar, Kalmar Länstrafik kalmarlanstrafik.se/ operates bus 101 to station Mellböda. From the bus stop, it is about 100 meters to walk to the hostel.
