More about STF Enköping/Bryggholmens gård
STF Bryggholmens Gård is both a hostel and a farm based on small-scale organic agriculture. People have lived and worked here for more than 500 years. Sweden’s third glassworks was one of the activities located here, and archaeologists have made exciting finds from that period. The history of the island and glassworks is described in an excellent exhibition housed in a cottage on the farm (free entry).
The rooms in the manor house from 1864 have been charmingly decorated and equipped in a style appropriate to the period, and have views across the landscape and lake. We have seven rooms with space for 15 overnight guests. The hostel is perfect for individual guests and for small groups that want to hire a complete hostel for themselves. One of the rooms, with four beds, is in a cottage at the guest harbour, with a view across the lake. Pets are welcome in some of our rooms. We have a well-equipped guest kitchen for preparing meals. We offer all guests a good breakfast with newly baked bread and fresh eggs. If you don’t want to bring your own bed linen and towels, it’s convenient to rent it from us. And of course, free WiFi is available at the hostel.
At the beach, we have a floating sauna, great swimming facilities and boat jetties, with both Canadian canoes and kayaks to rent. The nature reserve has excellent rambling trails, and there are interesting stone carvings, historic remains and traces of the Viking period in the region.
The location of your meeting or conference is important. Come to Bryggholmen for a secluded facility where your group has exclusive use. We offer conference facilities with full modern technology in venerable cultural surroundings with an old-fashioned style. If you enjoy simplicity, calm and seclusion, a conference here will be a unique experience. The conditions here are perfect for getting to know each other, brainstorming and simply relaxing. The natural world and its silence inspire creative thought and wise decisions.
