The accommodation’s home page: STF Farmors Lycka Gårdshotell

At Farmors Lycka Gårdshotell, you’ll be greeted with deep local knowledge and a strong sense of pride for the region. This northern part of Österlen offers one of the most varied landscapes, rich in nature experiences. Here, you’ll find hiking and cycling trails, charming villages, castles, waterfalls, the sea, apple orchards, nature reserves, and much more. It’s a region best explored on foot or by bike.

Hiking

The Brösarp area boasts over 100 km of marked hiking trails and jogging paths, most of them within the beautiful Verkeån nature reserve, where Skåneleden makes up almost half of the routes. With over 3,000 hectares of protected nature, including heaths, forests, streams, and coastal landscapes, it’s a true hiker’s paradise. STF Signature Trail Österlen also runs through this area, with stage seven passing nearby.

Right next to Farmors Lycka Gårdshotell, you’ll find both the Skåneleden and Backaleden trails. Stay overnight along the route or extend your stay and enjoy day hikes. The trail system allows for circular routes, letting you choose between shorter or longer day hikes.

Take a day trip to the nearby 18th-century baroque castle Christinehof and Christinehof Ecopark, which offers several scenic walking routes. Just next door, you’ll find Skåne’s oldest coffee house, Alunbruket, where you can enjoy traditional Swedish fika in a charming historic setting. A short walk from the trail leads to Hallamölla waterfall, home to a well-preserved mill and boasting Skåne’s highest total fall height of 23 meters.

Cycling

Discover Österlen by bike! The varied and beautiful landscape around Brösarp is perfect for all kinds of cycling, from challenging road biking and mountain biking to relaxed countryside rides. The scenic Sydostleden cycling route also runs through the area, offering winding roads and breathtaking views in Österlen’s well-preserved natural and cultural landscapes.

For those looking for longer rides, Sydostleden connects to Sydkustleden and later to Kattegattleden, making it possible to cycle all the way from Växjö to Gothenburg. But don’t rush—take the time to enjoy fantastic day trips through apple orchards, past picturesque farms, grazing lands, and forests before unwinding in the peaceful atmosphere of Farmors Lycka in the evening.

For adrenaline-fueled adventures, Helena Rimfors and Jordnära Upplevelser offer guided mountain bike tours year-round. With in-depth local knowledge, Helena leads mountain bike experiences, coaching, and courses tailored to your level—combining local insight, nature experiences, and pure cycling joy.

Kivik

The surroundings are diverse, and distances are short. Visit Kivik, the village where apples take center stage, with attractions like Äppelriket, Kiviks Musteri, and the annual Apple Market. Meet local growers and explore the various farm shops filled with regional produce.

A stroll through the historic quarters near the harbor, dating back to the 16th century, is a true delight. Many writers, poets, musicians, and artists draw inspiration from Kivik. The village also features charming small shops, cafés, restaurants, Österlen’s oldest museum, and Sweden’s oldest rural cinema. Here, you’ll also find a scenic stone pier with opportunities for year-round swimming.

Haväng

Haväng is a breathtakingly beautiful spot where Verkeån meets the sea. Here, vast sandy beaches blend with heathlands and rare sand steppe. Towering sand dunes, ancient beech and oak trees, the endless horizon of the sea, and the mysterious Haväng dolmen watching over the bay all contribute to a truly magical experience.

With Farmors Lycka Gårdshotell as your base, you can easily explore both the coast and the inland while enjoying the tranquility of the farm.
