More about STF Göteborg/ Mölnlycke/Wendelsberg

Wendelsberg was designed by the well-known architect Adrian C. Petersson and is styled in a neo-Renaissance style. The wooden castle, built as a residence for the wealthy Bruno Wendel, was completed in 1883. It was a lavish and magnificent building, at the top of a built-up hill, complete with towers, pinnacles, bell towers, verandas, balconies, lounges, stables for the breeding horses, swan pond, peacocks, statues and fountains. In 1907, it was sold to the small sobriety movement named IOGT, and in 1908 IOGT opened up a boarding school at the premises.

Today, Wendelsberg still is a popular boarding school and buzzing with life, while at the same time offering accommodation, conference and restaurant activities. A meeting place for those who want to enjoy the tranquility, still close to the big city life. The rooms are situated in an more recent building whilst the reception, conference and and diningroom are in the beautiful main building. We are only 10 km from central Gothenburg. The business is still owned and operated by the IOGT-NTO and thus the environment is completely non-alcoholic.

We offer a comfortable and cosy accommodation in twin or quadruple rooms, most of them with private toilet and shower. You can choose between hotels or hostel concepts. All rooms are non smoking and pet free. Each corridor has a small guest kitchen equipped with kitchen utensils for light cooking. There is also a lounge with TV video / DVD. During the summer months you will find a nice furnished patio with barbecues, perfect for lovely summer evenings. In addition, we offer access to a small gym, laundry room as well as free parking and wifi.

Wendelsberg is located in a scenic area with beautiful and lush surroundings that offer rich opportunities for exploring both city and nature. Just outside there are exercise tracks and a park area with ponds. In walking distance there is a bathing lake with a jumping tower for nice, cool baths. For those of you traveling with children, there are many playgrounds nearby, including the new nature playground at Wendelsberg Park. There is also proximity to fine cycling trails, canoe rental in Hindås as well as horse riding on Icelandic horses in Härryda.

In our beautiful dining room a large delicious breakfast buffet with freshly baked bread is served all week. We are usually open for lunch weekdays between 11.30-13.30. If you are more than 12 people, we are grateful if you give us a call for reservations. In addition, we regularly arrange activities such as afternoon tea and brunch. The school has a long and proud tradition of organizing various cultural events such as theater and New Year's shows. Do not hesitate to get in contact for an update on whats going on during your planned stay.
