STF Hemavan Mountain station

The Hemavan mountain station offers a homely alternative for individual guests, families and groups in relaxing surroundings, with ample facilities for socialising. All types of accommodation are available: full-board, partial board and accommodation only. It is possible to use self-catering facilities during the summer.

The mountain station has a beautiful location in the centre of Hemavan, right next to Centrumbacken and the recently opened children’s skiing area. It is also close to the Bayhill shopping centre with its shops and cafés, and close to several restaurants, ski-hire facilities, the swimming pool, buses and the airport. Its location at a certain height up on the mountain slope provides magnificent views of the mountains from all of the common areas, including the dining room and the fireplace lounge. The mountain station has also a beautiful church, available for anything from quiet prayer to a church service and wedding. We can accommodate 96 guests – 52 in the main building and 44 in the annexe. We offer also a sauna with showers and a space for simply relaxing, a ski-waxing hut, free WiFi and several large drying rooms, which can be used if the drying cabinets in the bedrooms become full.

The main building has 13 spacious and uniquely decorated four-bed rooms with bunk beds, where the lower bed is a double bed with sprung mattress. Toilet, shower and drying cabinet are shared between two rooms.

The annexe offers simpler accommodation at a lower price. The 10 rooms here are smaller than those in the main building, and the annexe has shared showers and toilets at both ends, where the drying rooms are also located. All rooms have four beds. A common room and members’ kitchen is located in the centre of the building. Guests staying in the annexe have, of course, full access to all of the common areas in the main building.

The mountain station has been specially adapted for use by people with disabilities. The three floors of the main building can all be easily reached by lift, and access to the station from the car park has been designed to be easy for people who use wheelchairs. We have skicarts and sit-down skis available for hire, and a specialised instructor for these. The needs of people with impaired vision were considered to a certain degree in the design of the building.

We offer guided tours of caves, glaciers and mountain peaks, and an outing to Artfjället with our own licensed mountain guides.

-Hunting
We can put you in touch with experienced hunting guides for bird hunting in the area.

-Downhill skiing
We are located 30 meters from Centrumbacken and the children’s area at Lilla Lämmeln.

-Cross-country skiing
Several groomed trails are close by.

-Ski-waxing hut
Skis can be waxed in our indoor basement to obtain perfect glide and traction.

-Ski hire
A limited range of equipment for ski touring can be hired when you book accommodation at the mountain station. Ski-hire facilities are available in Centrumhuset, approximately 200 metres away.

-Snowmobile trails
The Kungsleden and Jofjället trails can be easily accessed from our snowmobile parking site.

-Climbing wall
We have an outdoor climbing wall, 6 metres high with an area of 40 m2.

-Training facilities
Indoor training facilities for table tennis and floorball are located in the main building.

-Full board
Full-board accommodation is available during the peak season. And a coffee pot is always at hand.

-Breakfast
Breakfast is served nearly throughout the year. Book breakfast when you book accommodation.

-Self-catering
A members’ kitchen is open during the summer months, and during the spring and Easter school holidays.

-Shop
Food and equipment for outdoor activities are sold in the shop. The range of goods varies.
