STF Holmöns Prästgård

Holmön is a vibrant archipelago village and part of one of Sweden’s largest marine nature reserves. People have hunted and fished on the islets, and since the 14th century, the island has been continuously inhabited. Since its construction in the 19th century, Holmöns Prästgård has played various important roles in the villagers’ lives. In recent years, the parsonage has been a lively community center where association meetings, village lunches, kick-sled competitions, and other events are organized throughout the year.
 
Staying at the parsonage provides you with a comfortable base during your stay on the island. The house, located within walking distance from the ferry terminal (1.5 kilometers), is fully equipped with showers, toilets, a sauna, and a modern kitchen. You can rent a bicycle at the boat museum and explore the surroundings. During the snow-free season, several day trips are within comfortable cycling distance, and the beautiful hiking trail on Ängesön is a 20-minute bike ride from the house. For those who want to take it even easier, a walk through the beautiful village is more than enough. In winter, you can start your adventure right outside the door, as there are excellent ski tracks starting at the parsonage.
 
The parsonage’s lovely grounds offer great opportunities for activities and large parties or celebrations. Visiting children usually enjoy hunting for the parsonage’s wild strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. In the shed out in the yard, guests can enjoy theaters, musicals, movie nights, and other activities during the summer. The house’s spacious kitchen is perfect for preparing meals for many or for preparing a picnic basket for day trips in the nature reserve.
 
Holmöns Prästgård is owned by the village through the company Holmön Community Company, which employs staff to manage the operations. The company’s activities are run non-profit, and all revenues are reinvested into activities and efforts for the benefit of the village.
