STF Kaitumjaure is one of four mountain cabins along the Kungsleden trail between Saltoluokta and Kebnekaise. If you enjoy both traditional nordic ski touring and alpine ski touring, the surroundings of Kaitumjaure are perfect for you. From here, you can take short trips down to the lake and the Kaitumjåkka outlet. For more challenging alpine ski tours, you can head to Sangartjåkka, Livamtjåkka, or Läipetjäpetjåkka.

Good to know about the cabin:

• Summer: A small stream runs near the cabin, where you can fetch water. A little further downstream, there is an excellent spot for washing.
• Winter: Water is collected from a cold spring behind the host’s cabin.
• The mountain cabin offers a stunning view. Sitting outside and enjoying the scenery and surroundings is pure delight.
• Kaitumjaure is located within the Kebnekaise regulation area, so a permit is required for snowmobiling in the area. However, traffic is allowed on the lakes east of the cabin and along the trail toward Teusajaure.
