Directions to STF Kastellet Bed & Breakfast

It is easy to get to Kastellet. From Stockholm you easily get here by boat, bus or car. Upon arrival in Vaxholm, the ferry service takes a few minutes to Kastellet.

Cable ferry between Vaxholm and Kastellet:
From May 12 to September 12, 2021, a cable ferry runs between Vaxholm and Kastellet daily every 15 minutes (it takes just a few minutes). If you book your accommodation via STF, the cable ferry is included in the price.

Car to Vaxholm
From Stockholm it takes about 45 minutes by car to Vaxholm. A cable ferry runs the last leg from Vaxholm to Kastellet. You cannot take your car to Kastellet, so you must park in Vaxholm. In summer, we recommend parking at Norrbergsskolan on Hamngatan 53 or the area around Vaxholm church.

Bus to Vaxholm
Bus 670 from Östra Station in Stockholm takes 45 minutes to Vaxholm. From there there cable ferry will take you to Kastellet.

Boat from Stockholm to Vaxholm
Both Waxholmsbolaget (www.waxholmsbolaget.se) and Strömma (www.stromma.com) have all-year services between Stockholm and Vaxholm. The timetable can be found on Waxholmsbolaget's or Strömma's websites. From May 12 to September 12, 2021, a cable ferry runs between Vaxholm and Kastellet daily every 15 minutes (it takes just a few minutes). If you book your accommodation via STF, the cable ferry is included in the price.

Boat taxi from Vaxholm
You can also take a taxi boat any time, book via Kronuddens Taxi, phone 08-541 305 35. The trip from Vaxholm to Kastellet departs from Berth 9 and only takes a few minutes.
