STF Kolarbyn Eco-Lodge

The hostel is a collection of twelve charcoal-burner huts located in the middle of a spruce forest. There are two bunks in each with sheepskins, foam mat and you bring your own sleeping bag. All the huts have a wood heated stove and use wood chopped by the guests themselves. Blueberries can be picked right off the roof of the hut. You

Close by there are endless possibilities for enjoying outdoor life, including splendid fishing lakes, barbecues and hiking trails. The environmentally friendly hostel has been built from natural materials, and a percentage of the revenue coming into STF Kolarbyn goes straight to a range of projects that support preservation of the environment and historic places of interest. A visit to the hostel will be an exciting and enjoyable nature experience for young and old. Silence, wilderness and exciting outdoor experiences are located just a few hours from intense big city life.

A host/guide will meet you in the reception between 2 and 3pm.
Please notify us if you plan to arrive later, the reception is normally unmanned!
You have access to your huts from 2pm at arrival day until 12pm at departure day.

THIS INCLUDES
Guided walking tour in Kolarbyn, foam mats & sheepskin rugs, candles, matches, wood to chop to burn, fresh water to retrieve the source, access to fireplaces, primitive cooking equipment, dishwashing facilities in the stream, recycling, access to the seats in the community building (if not booked) , rowboats.

GOOD TO BRING
Clothing: Weather-resistant clothing and shoes, warm clothes for the cold nights, swimwear, towel. Equipment: Sleeping bag, pillow, camera, binoculars, water bottle. Sleeping Equipment (Haglöfs) can be rented (sleeping bag, travel pillow and sheets).
Food: Food you can take with yourselves, borrow simple kitchen equipment from us to cook the food over the open fire,
You can also add breakfast, lunch & dinner for self-catering as you yourselves do in order over the fire.

WE PROVIDE THIS
Floating sauna can be rented for two hours at a time, you chop the firewood and light the sauna yourself. You have to be prepared to share the sauna with others, if you want to take a sauna completely by yourself or as a group, you can book it for 500 SEK.

Toilets, we have two outdoor toilets.

Easier outdoor cooking equipment is available to borrow, grills, pans, pots, cutting knives, cutting boards, colanders, ladles, barbecue tools, barbecue grill, cutlery, cups etc.

Waste disposal in Kolarbyn and we want you to put all the garbage in these containers, and not in nature because it is the finest we have.

As dishwashing and cleaning spot, we use the stream from the lake and we provide soap and dish brushes for this. This place is also used to wash you and brush their teeth, there is no shower in Kolarbyn. You can also book the sauna and take a refreshing dip in the lake to wash.
