About the accommodation

Enjoy your morning coffee by the sea. Picturesque Ljugarn is perhaps the island’s oldest holiday resort. Here, lovely beaches offer cooling baths and beautiful walks along the coast.

Ljugarn is well known for its long and sandy beach. Ljugarn was, however, already in the 17th century an important town and port, and it is in the historic site for Strandridarna that the hostel is located. Here you live in the converted, charming old stone customs house. The large, lovely and beachfront plot also houses the Strandridar Museum and in the old hen house there is a fossil museum. Large child-friendly areas also attract to play and games.

The sea and the fantastic and child-friendly beach is about 300 meters away, and invites to both morning, dinner and evening dip.

Ljugarn is a charming village with old houses and fishing village. During the summer there are plenty of cozy restaurants down in the village which is about 500 m walk from the hostel. There is also a grocery store and a café that is open every day of the week. From Ljugarn you can both walk and cycle and you can easily reach Gotland’s many excursion destinations. You stay in functional twin or multi-bed rooms, ost of them with their own toilet. Showers and guest kitchens are located in the service building next door.

Linen is available for rent, please order it before arrival and they will be in the room upon arrival. Please note that we are not able to offer breakfast and that our hostel doesnt allow pets to stay.

It can be good to know that before your stay you will receive a welcome email from us with current info about opening hours in shops and the like.

By bus
There is a bus from Visby to Ljugarn, get off at the last stop at the harbour.

By car
Follow road 143 from Visby, through Roma. When that road ends, turn left onto road 144, continue straight through the entire Ljugarn community. In the last house on the right before the sea, there we are.
