About the accommodation

Stay right in the middle of the magnificent landscape of Värmland. This peaceful hostel lies between Selma Lagerlöf’s home at Mårbacka and Geijersgården, birthplace of Erik Gustaf Geijer. Accommodation is in cabins or apartments with kitchenette and en suite facilities.

The Nobel Prize winner’s descriptions of Sunne put it in on the world map, and the legacy has been carried on by author Göran Tunström.
 
The hostel lies in the middle of Värmland’s magnificent countryside, between the living history museums of Mårbacka and Geijer’s Farm. Guests stay in cabins or apartments, each with their own toilet, shower and kitchen. The hostel arranges horse trips on carriages or sleigh, and there a plenty of opportunities to explore the great outdoors by foot, bicycle or on the waters of lake Visten.

Travel information
By bus
Värmlandstrafik, www.varmlandstrafik.se/ operates from Karlstad - Ämtervik with a change in Sunne. From the Bogerud bus stop, it is just over 2km to walk to the hostel.
 
By car
From Karlstad take route 62 towards Trysil-Hagfors. Turn left at the Mårbacka-Sunne sign. After about 8 km, turn right at our signs STF-Medskog.
