STF Mem/Kanalmagasinet Hostel

More about STF Mem/Kanalmagasinet Hostel

Kanalmagasinet is located in the small village of Mem between Norrköping and Söderköping. It was originally built for the inauguration of the Göta Kanal in 1832 and here the inaugural meal was also held with King Karl XIV Johan in place.

The premises served as a warehouse for many years, and were later renovated and now include a café, banquet hall, conference rooms and hostel.

The rooms are rustic and cozy with two to six beds per room. In the larger rooms there is the possibility of extra bed, contact us directly to book. All rooms have a common toilet located in the corridor as well as a service house in an adjacent building which is at the disposal of the night guests. In the service house there is access to kitchenette for own cooking as well as the possibility of shower and more toilets. Adjacent to the rooms is also a meeting room where you can relax with a book or hang out. We welcome pets for pre-booking and an extra fee. Contact us directly to book.

In our café you can enjoy your coffee overlooking the canal. When our restaurant is open, we serve well-prepared, locally produced menu.

Kanalmagasinet continuously organizes activities and theme evenings such as Pub Evenings with Live Music, drink tastings and cooking classes. If you want to arrange for a private activity, please contact us for more information.

We really look forward to meeting you!

/ Emmy & Hjalmar
