We highly value giving our guests the freedom to experience their stay on their own terms—whether that means immersing themselves in the farm’s daily rhythm or simply enjoying peace and quiet. Dogs, cats, sheep, and hens all roam the farm. Jump on the trampoline, fire up the grill, play kubb in the garden, or try your hand at Viking axe throwing.
We are an active family running Nygården B&B, and we know our local area well. We are happy to share our best tips and hidden gems—from secluded swimming spots where you can take a dip in complete solitude to great fishing locations, top restaurants, and hiking trails with breathtaking views. With us, you’ll get insider recommendations that few others know about.
The Hälsingland Coast
Hälsingland’s coastline has much to offer. It features a magnificent archipelago, scattered across numerous islands, islets, and coves. The landscape is lush, welcoming, and just the right size for exploring. Along the coast, you’ll find many scenic spots and plenty to see and do. The old fishing villages, strung together like a pearl necklace, provide a glimpse into an ancient livelihood and culture. Further inland, breathtaking nature and rich cultural heritage await.
Hälsingland Farms
Hälsingland’s historic farms are true treasures. Nowhere else in Sweden will you find such a collection of grand farmsteads, built by proud, self-sufficient farmers. Around a hundred impressive “wooden castles” dot the landscape—a globally unique cultural heritage. Their well-preserved murals and interiors are so extraordinary that in 2012, UNESCO designated them as a World Heritage Site. There are seven official World Heritage farms that represent all Hälsingland farms. Each has its own unique charm, offering guided tours, cafés, or farm shops. Some even offer accommodation—an exciting opportunity to get up close to this cultural heritage, for both relaxation and inspiration.
Flea markets
Hälsingland is a paradise for flea markets, antique fairs, and summer auctions. Few places in Sweden have as many markets and auctions per capita as this region. Whether you’re hunting for rare finds, vintage treasures, or unique collectibles, Hälsingland is the perfect place to explore.
