STF Omberg/Stocklycke Hostel

More about STF Omberg/Stocklycke Hostel

People have lived and worked here from time immemorial. Originally there was a farm here which belonged to Alvastra monastery. The hostel is one of the oldest in Sweden and is right in the centre of the beech woods of Omberg, a couple of hundred meters from lake Vättern.
In the spring and the summer the area is bursting with flowers, with lilies of the valley, liverleaf and many different kinds of orchids. Several hiking trails start here and the rocks in Stocklycke harbour are a great place for jumping into lake Vättern if you fancy a refreshing dip.
