About the accommodation

Explore the limitless World Heritage site at the southern point of Öland. The STF Ottenby hostel is here, surrounded by open cultivated landscape, long beaches and rambling trails. A hidden gem for birdwatchers and others interested in the world around us.

Parts of the hostel were once a junior school for local children and today guests are accommodated in double or multiple-bed rooms.

There are plenty of walking paths and hiking trails close by for excursions on foot or by bicycle, and there are even two heated outdoor pools. Grönhögen’s golf course, one of the country’s finest, is also in the vicinity.

The proximity to Långe Jan lighthouse, Ottenby bird station and Eketorp’s castle makes the hostel a natural starting point for an exiting vacation on Öland.

From Ölandsbron, road 136 towards Ottenby, continue 2km past the exit to Ölands Södra Udde, just after Å's church, the hostel is on the right.
 
By train & bus
Take the train to Kalmar. From Kalmar, Kalmar Länstrafik kalmarlanstrafik.se/ operates by bus to Ottenby with a change in Mörbylånga.
