STF Övertorneå/Svanstein Lodge

More about STF Övertorneå/Svanstein Lodge

STF Svanstein Lodge is about 35 kilometres north of Övertorneå, right on the border of Sweden and Finland. It is also very close to the Arctic Circle, which is just 10 kilometres away in the village Juoksengi. You can celebrate New Year twice here – first in Finland, then an hour later in Sweden. We have a total of 11 rooms, divided into single and double rooms that are all equipped with a shower and toilet, a TV, free WiFi, a kettle and a hair-dryer. The size of the rooms is between 15 and 20 m2. Guests have access to a common-room with a fireplace. Our cabins, which have a kitchenette, a living room and a bedroom, can comfortably accommodate up to six people. If you are arriving by car, we have parking with engine pre-heaters. If you like to exercise, we have a spacious swimming pool and sports centre, as well as a sauna. The main building contains our restaurant and a cosy lobby for our guests.

A wide range of different activities are available locally, such as dog sledding, snowmobiling and fishing. If you want to ski Svanstein Ski is very close by and has 16 pistes, with everything from black to green runs. Dränglängan is a gem for those looking for genuine experiences – it is home to the Nordic countries’ largest art museum for wood sculptures made from tree burrs, as well as antiques and an art café.
