Practical information

The common areas on the ground floor of the hostel include a kitchen equipped with a fridge, freezer, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, and utensils, as well as a shower and a lounge. At the very top of the old pilot lookout, there is an additional lounge with panoramic windows and a wood-burning stove. The view is absolutely stunning! Regardless of which building you stay in, you’re welcome to use the shared spaces in both houses.

The “White House,” now painted red, was originally built for lighthouse keepers and boatmen. It retains its name and is now used for additional accommodations. It features a shower room, a large kitchen, and a conference room with panoramic windows and a terrace overlooking the sea. The 11 beds are distributed among one double room, three twin rooms, and one family room. Both houses offer Wi-Fi. Baby cots, hairdryers, and ironing equipment are available free of charge, as well as games, kubb, balls, and more.

Two modern eco-toilets are located in a separate shared building just a short walk from the houses. Down by the shore, you’ll find a wood-fired sauna with a relaxation area, built in 2015. Barbecue areas and firewood are also available.

Keys
Whether you arrive via taxi boat or your own boat, keys and linen sets are provided at the hostel.

What to bring:

• Food and drinks: There is no store on the island.
• Bedding: Pillows, duvets, and blankets are provided. Linen sets can be rented as an add-on when booking.
• Towels

Additional information:

• If you prefer not to clean yourself, you can book departure cleaning as an add-on when reserving your room.
• Pets and smoking are not allowed in any of the buildings.

Getting there
You can reach Rönnskär either by taxi boat or your own boat. For private boats, designated guest spaces are available in the harbor.

The taxi boat to Rönnskär runs on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays:

• Departure from Stenö Gästhamn: 11:00. Arrival at Rönnskär: approx. 11:30.
• Return from Rönnskär: 12:00. Arrival at Stenö Gästhamn: approx. 13:20 (via Enskär).

For other times, contact the Archipelago Unit at skargardsenheten@soderhamn.se or +46 72 216 13 92 to arrange transport at a charter rate.

• Price: 300 SEK round trip. Half price for children aged 0–12.

Note: Boat schedules may need to be adjusted. If so, we will notify you in advance.

Free parking is available at Stenö Havsbad and Camping.
