The idyllic setting of Rönnskär is a legacy from the pilots, customs officers, and fishermen who were the island’s original inhabitants. From 1891 until the mid-1970s, this was Lilljungfrun’s pilot station. Today, the island is a summer paradise offering swimming, fishing, and a fascinating cultural experience. All buildings are now used as holiday homes, with around 40 houses built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The hostel provides a rowboat with life jackets for free use, and kayaks and paddleboards (SUPs) are available for rent.
Söderhamn’s archipelago offers many wonderful accommodations. For more information and to book Enskär, Klacksörarna, or Storjungfrun, visit each location’s page here on STF.
