Tärnasjön

Tärnasjön is a true fishing paradise, especially in winter when it becomes a popular spot for ice fishing. Both in summer and winter, it’s common to enjoy freshly caught Arctic char prepared in the cabin.

Right by the lake, next to the mountain cabin, you’ll find a sauna. There’s no better way to end a day of fishing or hiking than by running out of the hot sauna and diving into the cold mountain water.

Some years, the area around the cabin offers an abundance of mushrooms, including golden chanterelles and birch boletes.

Birdlife in the area includes species such as bluethroats, northern hawk owls, rough-legged buzzards, and golden eagles.

Grans Sámi village actively herds reindeer in the area, with the reindeer grazing in the mountains above Gábbie. In early summer and autumn, you may spot small groups of reindeer passing by the cabin.
