STF Trollhättan/Gula Villan Hostel

More about STF Trollhättan/Gula Villan Hostel

Our cozy yellow house is located in a calm neighbourhood close to the travel centre. The city centre is within just five minutes walking distance. The house is built in the turn of the last century and has been used as a hostel since 1996. In the hostel you have a peaceful and safe stay in one of our 12 cozy rooms. When you check in, we offer coffee, tea and cake in our dining room.

Breakfast buffet is served every day and can be ordered when you make your reservation or at check-in. The breakfast is free for children under 10. If you need to eat early, we offer a breakfast tray. If you prefer to cook your own food, you can use our newly renovated kitchen upstairs.

We have a big and recently renovated kitchen on the ground floor, which is available for bigger parties if you book the whole house. We are happy to help you with catering recommendations if you do not want to cook yourself. We welcome sports groups, family reunions, corporate events and much more.

The ice rink, swimming pool and training facilities are all within walking distances, as well as Trollhättans selection of restaurants and cafes. The canal runs through the city only five minutes walk from the hostel, and a short walk to the south you can experience the impressive falls of Trollhättan.

There are many nice hiking trails to be found in the waterfall and lock area. In addition to a landscape shaped by ancient natural forces, you will also discover industrial history with unique engineering that manifests itself in, among other things, lock system from the year 1800.

In recent years, several nice playgrounds have been built, a couple of them only a few minutes walk from the hostel. Don't miss the Macken playground in Maria Albert's park or Skrotnisse's playground on Spikön. You can also book our Playground package. Read more information under the "Activities" tab.

A short drive from the hostel you can visit the plateau mountains of Halleberg and Hunneberg. With dramatic screes and a truly unique fauna, the mountains attract many visitors. Here, the Swedish king has been hunting moose since 1885 when Oscar II introduced the annual royal hunt on the
mountains. Trollhättan has in recent years also become a real movie city. We now have our own Walk of Fame on Storgatan, filled with stars in the ground with the names of some of our most famous actors who have been recording films in Trollhättan. You can book our Movie package. Read more information under the "Activities" tab.
