STF Värmdö Sofielund

More about STF Värmdö Sofielund

Situated along a beautiful shoreline just next to the Boda brygga ferry stop on Värmdö outside Stockholm is Sofielund – a genuine archipelago villa from the late 19th century. The proximity to the sea and archipelago is tangible here. The waterfront site with its rocky shore offers lovely swimming opportunities, and the carefully renovated rooms are contained in a genuine archipelago villa, beautifully situated with an expansive view of Sandöfjärden. Here you can enjoy archipelago life and see the boats pass by while you eat your breakfast on the veranda or in the lush garden.

Sofielund is in the village of Boda by, a genuine and well-preserved archipelago village in the north of the island of Värmdö. The area has a rich history and dates back to the 17th century. Boda brygga, just next to Sofielund, is a hub for boat traffic in the archipelago and is therefore an excellent staring point from which to discover the surrounding islands. Your hosts who run Sofielund have been working their whole lives in the shipping industry and the boat taxi business behind us and we would be happy to guide you on your onward voyage in the archipelago. We are also able to offer boat taxi trips so that you can explore other nearby islands or eat dinner at one of the many archipelago restaurants and then come back with us to Sofielund for a wood-fired sauna or hot tub and a dip in the sea.

At our place you stay in carefully renovated and beautifully decorated rooms that have a genuine archipelago feeling. Most of the rooms have a view of the sea and the small shared verandas are lovely to sit on and just enjoy archipelago life as it slowly passes by just outside. There are breakfast baskets available to order, but there is also a fully equipped shared kitchen if you would rather make your own breakfast (and other meals) yourself. The grounds also feature a simple outdoor kitchen with a gas barbecue and cooking facilities. The 180-degree view over the sea from here is hard to beat.

In addition to the rooms in the merchant’s villa, there is also an separate archipelago cabin on the hill behind, which can be rented by a single party (2–4 people) at a time. From here you have a view in three directions over the water and the sauna and swimming jetty are nearby. The cottage has its own kitchen and toilet (while the shower can be found in a separate building in the courtyard) and its own veranda with a set of outdoor furniture on which you can sit and enjoy spectacular sunsets over Sandöfjärden.

A warm welcome to Värmdö and our Sofielund, our jewel of the archipelago!
