More about STF Vilhelmina Järjagården Hostel
The hostel is in the little village of Storseleby, outside Vilhelmina. Silence, untouched wilderness and rich fauna are within easy reach here.
Family-owned Järjagården offers a friendly environment and personal service. The rooms are homely with comfortable single beds. The history of this authentic building has included housing a housewifery school and student dorms. It’s possible to choose both self-catering and full board.
Next to Järjagården there is water rich in fish, untouched wilderness and beautiful hunting grounds. Go on an exciting hare hunt or bird hunt in a forested terrain, tracking capercaillie and black grouse. Hunting and fishing trips are arranged each year. Järjagården’s hosts are themselves hunters with plenty of experience guiding hunts. Contact the hostel for more information.
This is also an great spot for anglers as one of Sweden’s best places to catch grayling is only two kilometres from Järjagården. Go out into the huge forest and enjoy the peace and quiet, hike up the mountain Björnberget or search for wild mushrooms in the forest.
In summer there are great forest roads for running and cycling.
In winter Vilhelmina offers both ski slopes and cross-country trails. After a long day outdoors you can relax in the hot sauna.
The restaurant serves food prepared from scratch. The menu often features traditional and local produce from Lapland such as game, fish, mushrooms and berries. Here you can enjoy delicious food and drinks while discussing the day’s adventures around the table.
