About the accommodation

At Vita Krala you stay in the middle of nature, surrounded by peace. Enjoy a day in the surrounding forests or on the lake, and relax in our lush garden or take a dip in the hot tub before enjoying our dinner made with home-grown ingredients. Welcome!

Our bed and breakfast is in a beautiful and quiet location, on an 18th century farm in the Haddebo forest village in Närke. Using old techniques and natural and sustainable materials we have carefully renovated the farm to modern standards, always with respect for the farm’s nature and history. The large garden and forest behind the house give a feeling of peace and quiet. Here, nature and all it has to offer is just around the corner.

Our restaurant is open all year. Meals are prepared lovingly using home-grown or local ingredients. Your breakfast eggs come from our own chickens, the berries and fruit from our garden, and the bread was baked right here. In the evening, you and other guests can enjoy our organic four-course dinner, prepared with ingredients from the surrounding forests, farms and lakes. The farm also has a shop selling home-grown vegetables and craft foods made with ingredients from the farm and surrounding areas, plus as stylish furnishings in sustainable natural materials.

As well as delicious food and honest accommodation, we have a lush garden, a wood-fired hot tub and a sauna, and not least great tips for enjoying the exciting nature and cultural experiences of the area.

We pride ourselves on our personal commitment to the house, the garden, the food and above all our dear guests. This is a great place to relax, long-time or for a short break, especially if you let us take care of you.

In old times, our houses were called White and Red Krala. “Krala” is an old Swedish word meaning farm or home. Before the renovation, the restaurant building was whitewashed. We have clay plastered the whole house both inside and out, but the name remains.

    Travel options
    The easiest way to find us is to set your GPS or similar device for "Vita Krala" in Hjortkvarn. We are located in Haddebo in Hallsberg municipality, about 35km east of Askersund, 45 km south of Örebro and 65 km west of Katrineholm. By car, it takes about 2.5h from Stockholm and just under 4 hours from Gothenburg. Many choose to simply stop by for the night and to have dinner on their journey between Sweden's two largest cities.

    We are currently not serviced by public transport. Hallsberg is just over 30 km from us, so it is possible to take the train there and then rent a car.

    We offer free parking, and charging facilities for electric vehicles is coming soon.
