Are there many mosquitoes in the mountains during summer?

Mosquitoes hatch in June and thrive in mountain birch forests and marshy areas. On the open mountain plateau, it often gets breezy, which helps keep the mosquitoes away. Later in the summer, by August, the number of mosquitoes decreases.
