Sitojaure - Aktse
You start your day with a boat trip over mountain lakes Kaskajaure and Kåbtajaure. The walk then begins at the jetty in Svine, where there is a mountain shelter. The first kilometres through mountain birch forest are easy and there are wooden walkways in places.
Once you get up to the treeline, the ascent up the barren mountainside becomes sharply steep. When you have passed the highest point and come round Tåresåive, you’ll have a view of the Rapadalen valley and the Sarekfjällen mountains, with the famous Skierffeklippan rockface in the foreground. From the top, the view of Rapadalen and the Pårte massif in Sarek is quite fantastic.
If the weather is favourable, you can take a detour to the spot that sends photographers into raptures: Skierffe. From the top, the view of Rapadalen and the Pårte massif in Sarek is quite fantastic. It is often difficult to find water on the open mountain fell, so plan your rest stop by taking water with you from down in the birch forest. The last section to the STF Aktse Mountain Cabin goes steeply downhill through old-growth forest.
