Hiker with blue rucksack in Jämtland

Sylarna – Storulvån

It´s time to leave magnificent Sylarna to take a walk north towards Storulvån. The terrain on this walk is slightly varied but fairly easy. Bridges and boarded walkways along the trail make passing wild streams and wet parts easy.

This walk starts downhill 3 kilometres to the shelter at Gamla Sylen. Opposite, on the other side of the stream Sylälven, is the site where Sweden´s first mountain station was built. There are signs leading you to the site.

The trail continues in varied terrain towards the shelter at Spåime which is about halfway down to Storulvån. From here you will be walking mostly on dry land with some parts on boarded walkways over bog. Towards the end of this walk the path goes downhill one last time before you reach the bridge crossing Lill-Ulvån, finishing this trail in sparse mountain birch forest.
