Hiking
You can hike on remote mountain peaks, along rugged coastal landscapes, beside vibrant yellow rapeseed fields, or close to the bustle of the city. On this page you will find helpful tips and information for your hike.
Enjoy comfortable day hikes close to home, or set out on adventurous excursions among steep mountain peaks. The choice is entirely yours. Lace up your hiking boots and head out on a climate-smart staycation in Sweden – on foot.
Where do you want to hike?
If the mountains are calling, you can walk hut to hut along Kungsleden or the Jämtland Triangle and leave the tent at home. In the lowlands, our Signature trails run from Skåne in the south to the High Coast in the north.
What do you need?
The right shoes, the right clothes and a pack that isn’t too heavy will do more for your walk than anything else. Our packing lists and gear tips go through what’s worth bringing. Keep the Right of Public Access in mind too – it lets you move freely in nature, as long as you don’t disturb or destroy. Read more at Naturvårdsverket (opens in new tab).
