Flickering Auroras in Polar skies have always been fascinating. In recent years the phenomenon has attracted increasing numbers of visitors north of the Arctic Circle. STF Aurora Sky Station is one of the best places on earth to view the Northern Lights.
After a three-course dinner at STF Abisko Mountain Station you'll take the chairlift up to STF Aurora Sky Station. The ride in the lift, which takes about 20 minutes, over the slopes of Abisko National Park, is an experience in itself as your eyes get used to the darkness and more and more stars begin to twinkle in the polar night sky. At the STF Aurora Sky Station conditions are almost ideal - often clear polar night skies, a panorama of mountains and valleys and almost no disturbing background lights. At STF Aurora Sky Station there is also an exhibition about the Northern Lights, a warm cozy café and access to knowledgeable Northern Lights guides.
