It is important that you read and understand the general conditions. When you click to “Confirm booking” in the last stage of your booking, you have accepted these conditions and the amount for the accommodation booked will be debited from your card.
Membership Terms and Conditions
The Swedish Tourist Association (STF) is a non-profit organization that works to ensure that everyone who wishes has the opportunity to discover Sweden and our fantastic nature and culture. We want to inspire travel, activities, and adventures throughout Sweden, and we have done so since 1885. As a member of the Swedish Tourist Association, you are part of the association and contribute to everything we achieve together. You have the opportunity to influence the organization through your democratic rights, and you receive many benefits and offers as thanks for being a member. Welcome to STF! Below you will find STF’s membership terms and conditions.
These membership terms and conditions apply between you as a private individual and the Swedish Tourist Association (corporate ID no. 802003-5955), hereinafter referred to as STF. By becoming a member, you accept these terms and conditions, which may be updated. This is the latest version. If you do not accept our changes, you always have the right to terminate your membership in STF.
How We Process Your Personal Data
When you become a member of STF, we store the information you provide in your application as well as your payment information in our membership system. STF is the data controller for this information. In our privacy policy, you can find more details about how we process your personal data and what rights you have in relation to it. Your personal data will be deleted 36 months after your membership has ended.
If you provide personal data about other individuals, you are responsible for ensuring that STF may also process their data in accordance with the privacy policy. This may, for example, occur when registering more than one person for membership.
Membership Period
STF has a rolling membership year, which means that your membership period is valid for 12 months from the date your payment is registered in STF’s membership system. If you wish to terminate your membership before the end of the period, you can request to leave STF by contacting STF Member Services via email at medlemsservice@stfturist.se or by phone at +46 (0)8-463 21 00. The membership fee is non-refundable.
If you register additional people from your household at the same time, they will all receive the same membership period as you. The same applies if you later add more household members as STF members.
Before your current membership period ends, you will receive a notice from us offering you the opportunity to renew for another year. Members connected to Kivra will receive this notice in their digital mailbox; others will receive it by post.
Your new membership period begins when the old one has expired, even if you pay your membership fee in advance.
Democratic Rights
The right to take part in STF’s democratic processes applies to members from the age of 16.
Benefits
As a member, you receive a range of benefits. Read more about them here. To access certain benefits, you need to show proof of valid membership. Present your membership card or log in to My Pages on STF’s website where you will find all your offers and membership details. To receive membership discounts at STF accommodations, it is important that you book via STF’s website, by phone, or directly at the accommodation. Children under 16 stay at the member rate when traveling with an STF member.
You receive five issues of the member magazine Turist. Members living abroad have access to the magazine in digital form.
As a member, you can also enjoy benefits from our external partners, such as railway companies, car rentals, and outdoor equipment providers. Each partner is responsible for its benefits, and their current terms apply. STF cannot guarantee that these benefits will always be available or error-free, and we are not responsible for technical problems or other circumstances that may affect the use of a benefit. Terms for partner offers may change without prior notice. We reserve the right for potential misprints in the offers.
Membership Card
Once you have paid your membership fee, you can download your membership card in STF’s app or log in to My Pages at where you can find all information about your membership and download your card. You will also receive a welcome email with your membership details.
Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for losses or damages caused by technical failures, reduced functionality, or other similar issues related to your membership. This does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory legislation.
Term and Termination of Membership
These terms take effect when you register as a member and remain valid until further notice.
We reserve the right to revoke or terminate your STF membership in cases of reasonable suspicion of unauthorized use or misuse of our services, violation of these terms, fraud, or other similar actions and behaviors.
