Planning your first summer hike in the mountains? Before you hit the trail, take a look at our current snow report for the Swedish mountain region, summer 2025.
Are you heading out for your first mountain hike of the summer? Here’s a report on the snow conditions in our mountain areas for the summer of 2025.
The report is based on observations made during the period June 30–July 7, 2025. Snow conditions and water levels may have changed since these observations were made. It is not possible to provide forecasts for conditions further ahead.
See below for the current situation at the mountain huts and trails for which we have received information up to Monday, July 7. For snow conditions at other huts and trails, we refer to SMHI. SMHI: No warnings for the relevant areas were issued on July 7.
In general, summer conditions now prevail in the mountain areas where the Swedish Tourist Association operates. The exception is an area around Kebnekaise and in the border mountains in northwestern Lapland. In these areas, it is still partially difficult to traverse due to snow and snowmelt.
No further snow condition updates will be made during the summer of 2025.
