Mountain hiking

The Swedish mountain range stretches from Treriksröset in the north to Dalarna in the south. Here, breathtaking landscapes and hundreds of miles of marked hiking trails await. Put together your own tour between some of the STF's 44 mountain cabins, join a hike with a knowledgeable guide, or make day trips using a mountain station as your base. On this page, we gather everything you need to know about mountain hiking.

How would you like to hike?

No matter how you want to hike, there’s something for you. Here you’ll find inspiration, tips, and advice tailored to different ways of experiencing the mountains – with kids, a dog, a tent, or maybe together with a guide.

Hike between mountain cabins

STF’s 44 mountain cabins are located in scenic spots, 10 to 20 kilometers apart along well-marked hiking trails. Here, you stay simply but cozily, sharing both space and experiences with other guests. Hike between the cabins or stay in one and take day trips in the surrounding area!
