Accomodation details
On Grinda, you can choose to stay either at the hotel located in an annex next to the Wärdshus, or at the slightly simpler but equally charming Grinda Sea Lodge on the island’s southern side. Dogs are warmly welcome at both accommodations, and the dog supplement can easily be added when booking online.
The hotel
When you check in at the hotel, you’ll find yourself in a unique setting. The comfortable rooms are surrounded by lakeside nature, right next to the Wärdshus with its restaurant, bar, and breakfast room. The hotel rooms are located in four red archipelago houses, each named after a cardinal direction. All rooms have a private shower and toilet. The beds are arranged as a double with two separate mattresses that can be pulled apart. Each morning, a generous breakfast buffet is served in the nearby Wärdshus, offering fantastic views of the sea.
Grinda Sea Lodge
If you choose Grinda Sea Lodge, you’ll stay on the beautiful southern side of the island, a 15-minute walk from the Wärdshus. The lodge is set on a south-facing slope with stunning sea views and is surrounded by lush nature. The rooms are simple but cozy and charmingly decorated. Enjoy the closeness to nature, the sea, the forest, and the social atmosphere. The southern side is perfect for play and fun for all ages.
When hunger strikes, you’ll find simple lunch dishes, fika, and ice cream. In the evening, the grill is fired up, and meals are served based on the “sharing is caring” principle – the chefs prepare the food and you dine together with other guests. As the sun sets, the campfire is lit – a cozy gathering spot for everyone. With a bit of luck, someone with troubadour ambitions might perform at the Sea Lodge. The evening often ends with a refreshing dip from the jetty, with sea views that make it hard to leave.
During the summer season, breakfast is served either outdoors in the greenery or in the cozy dining room at long communal tables. The breakfast includes freshly baked bread from Grinda Bakery and many other delights.
