STF Aigert

STF Aigert is the first mountain cabin on the Kungsleden trail between Ammarnäs and Hemavan. It is beautifully located by a small tarn with views toward the Ammarfjället mountains. The most popular day hike from here is the steep ascent to Stor-Aigert, the highest peak in the area. From the summit, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views across the vast Vindelfjällen Nature Reserve to the west, with its rolling landscapes of wetlands, forests, lakes, and mountains.

Fishing for small trout for personal consumption is possible in the nearby lakes. All water for the sauna is taken from the large lake, while the small tarn is used for swimming and washing. STF Aigert is located within a snowmobile-free zone, ensuring a peaceful and undisturbed environment.

Sauna

The wood-fired sauna at Aigert is a real highlight. With the small lake right next to it, you can enjoy a refreshing swim after your sauna session during the summer. From the sauna room, you have a great view of Stor-Aigert mountain. The sauna facilities include a changing room, a washroom, and a sauna room, with designated times for men, women, and mixed sessions.

Shop

The mountain cabin has a small but sufficient selection of goods to prepare a complete meal. The shop stocks items such as canned meat, soup, freeze-dried meals, pasta, instant mashed potatoes, oats, tube cheese, crispbread, biscuits, instant coffee, tea, hot chocolate, powdered milk, and sweets.
