The accommodation’s home page: STF Saltoluokta Mountain station

Saltoluokta Fjällstation’s restaurant offers magnificent views of nature and mountains on one side, and a crackling open fire on the other.

The food is based on local ingredients, and we work with suppliers in the surrounding area who provide reindeer, moose and fish. Of course, we also serve vegan or vegetarian options if you prefer – please let us know when you make your booking. We serve breakfast and dinner, and during the day you can enjoy fika.

Pre-book meals

Pre-book if you want to guarantee a seat in the dining room. Special diets such as vegetarian, lactose-free, gluten-free or other allergies must always be pre-booked. Please add this when you book your stay. If you would like to add individual meals later, email saltoluokta@stfturist.se
and specify which meals you would like to book, the number of guests, any special dietary requirements, and your booking number.

Breakfast

On the breakfast buffet you will find yoghurt, muesli, cereal, porridge, eggs, homemade bread, tasty toppings, juice, tea and coffee.

Dinner

Each day a carefully prepared main course is served with bread and salad, based on local ingredients such as reindeer, moose and mountain fish. Dinner follows a fixed menu that rotates every three to four days depending on the season. The meal is rounded off with something sweet, such as a delicious cake.

Packed lunch

Would you like to bring a packed lunch on your outing? Make your own sandwiches from the breakfast buffet and take them with you together with a hot drink, fruit and Saltoluokta’s homemade muesli bar.

Children’s prices

Children aged 6–15 eat at half price, and children under 5 eat free of charge.

Drinks

A wide selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages is available. This includes craft beer from Norrbotten, good and reasonably priced wines by the bottle or carafe, and avec to accompany your meal. We also put together a wine package that pairs perfectly with the day’s menu. For those who prefer non-alcoholic options, there is a festive range of lemonade, soft drinks and juice.

The dining room

The dining room is a place where you can truly sense the wings of history. The chairs and tables are just as well preserved as the building itself, crafted from leftover timber back in 1918. The floor has been worn smooth and polished by tens of thousands of wool socks over more than a century. If you look closely, you will notice how the building’s distinctive profile is reflected throughout the room – in the chair backs, in the wall clock, in the open fireplace. A dining room with more soul is hard to find.
