Shop & rental

At Saltoluokta Mountain Station, you can rent or buy outdoor equipment for your mountain adventure directly at the reception. The shop offers hiking food, camping fuel, maps, clothing and essentials, while the rental service provides high-quality gear for both summer and winter, from Nordic touring skis and tents to pulks and children’s equipment.

Shop

In our small shop you can find almost anything you need for your hike. Our food section has cans, freeze dried expedition food, pasta, rice and other products sold in bulk, crisp bread and frozen soft bread, soups and stews, dried fruits and nuts, coffee and tea, sausages, candy, bars, chips, beer and other drinks. Sometimes we also offer fresh fruit, dairy products, eggs and vegetables. Ask in the reception if you don’t find theese products in our shop. We also have pizzas and pies in our freezer, ready to be heated in the self service kitchens.

Amongst our outdoor equipment you can find backpacks, raincovers, wind sacks, simple rain clothing, outdoor clothes and underwear, gaiters, hats and gloves, wool socks, buffs, thermoses and bottles, knives, maps and compasses, foldable cups… and more! We sell some necessities like band aids, sports tape and hygiene products. We also have gas and white gas for camping stoves.

If you want to bring home a memory from your hike we sell a range of sami handicraft, local food items, jewellery, books and other souvernirs. Do not hesitate to send an e-mail to saltoluokta@stfturist.se if you are looking for something particular and wonder if you can find it in our store.

Rental

In our rental service you find equipment for your next adventure, both summer and winter. We can of course help you find the right equipment and sizes. Note that ski boots usually need to be at least one size bigger than your usual day-to-day shoes. Rent a whole Nordic Touring Ski package and an expedition pulk or small but important details like thermoses and gaiters. Our tents are from the Swedish high quality brand Hilleberg and our skis are from the Norwegian brand Åsnes and have the Rotefella NNN BC-binding (in case you want to bring your own ski boots).

Free rental of children’s skis and child transport sleds!

In spring 2026, we’re offering free children’s ski equipment to guests staying at the mountain station.

What’s included in the offer?

• Free children’s ski equipment: Applies to children up to 15 years old or shoe size 35.
• Free child transport sled (Fjellpulken): Includes shafts and harness.

Who can use the offer?

You need to be an STF member. The offer applies only to children who can use items from our children’s range.

Important to know

• The offer is valid while supplies last.
• Maximum 3 ski packages and 1 sled per booking.
• Other booking terms can be found in the booking form.

How to book

Go to our booking form via this link: Rental request Saltoluokta. In the Comments field, write: “Free children’s ski rental” and the booking reference number for your room reservation.

Returning rented equipment

If you finish your tour at another mountain station, you can send back your equipment with bus freight. You will then pay an additional 2 days’ rental fee, as well as a transport cost. You must purchase the shipping label from us when you pick up the equipment, and ensure you have packaging to be able to send back the equipment. You are responsible for ensuring that your equipment gets on the bus, and is properly packaged and labeled. There is no guarantee that the bus will take the goods; this is decided by the bus driver on site it there’s enough space.

At present, we do not have any collaboration with Kvikkjokk Fjällstation regarding bus freight, so you cannot turn to them. If you want to send equipment, please email us saltoluokta@stfturist.se in advance so we can ensure that we have booked the right equipment for the right number of days, and that you have received all the information.
