Hiking

Funäsfjällen offers a wide variety of hiking for all levels throughout summer and autumn. More than 30 selected “golden trails” are designed to suit different levels of experience and effort. These are day hikes ranging from one hour to a full day, featuring loops and round trips. Discover waterfalls, awe-inspiring peaks, cultural history, and your own favourite hidden gems. 

Skiing

As part of Funäsfjällen, Strandgården Fjällnäs puts all kinds of skiing within easy reach. Tänndalen, Hamra and Funäsdalen offer extensive alpine skiing for everyone, and Ramundberget and Tännäskröket are also nearby with even more options. 
For Nordic ski touring, you’ll find mile after mile of well-maintained tracks right outside the door. Just step into your skis and go. If you prefer alpine ski touring up the mountains, your options are endless—pack a snack, strap on your skis and head out. 

Mountain biking

Funäsfjällen is known for its well-organised and maintained mountain biking. With 180 km of trails and several lift-accessed bike parks, there’s plenty to explore. The rounded mountain ridges are ideal for cycling, even if it’s your first time discovering the magic of mountain biking. 

Visit Norway – Røros

From Fjällnäs, the Norwegian border is just a few kilometres away. The charming mountain town of Røros features one of Europe’s oldest wooden building ensembles and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town has preserved its historical character, with many buildings dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. You can also visit the mines and learn more about Røros’ fascinating mining history.
