The hostel is housed in the old village school, and the beautiful setting offers tranquility, mountains and nature that bring a deep sense of calm. Sit by the fire, enjoy conversations with friends and fellow guests in a warm, homely atmosphere. The owners grew up in Björkvattnet and know every stone and stream—they’re happy to share their favourite spots. The luxury of silence and the joy of hearing birdsong, feeling the wind and watching the light change across the mountain ridges is something truly special. Travelling with children? Björkvattnet is the perfect oasis for a fun and exciting school holiday. Catch your own fish and grill it over the fire in front of the hostel. Want to get out on the lake? You can rent a boat, SUP board or kayak. A small beach is just a short walk down the gravel road. At dusk, sneak down to the stream and look for beavers, spot sea eagles, or sit quietly and wait for moose and reindeer to come to the lake for a drink. The forests around Björkvattnet are full of mushrooms and berries—explore the autumn woods and hike across the marshlands in search of cloudberries.

The hostel also features a spa area with a hot tub, sauna, and relaxation room—perfect for unwinding after a day in the mountains or forest. Both spa and massage sessions can be booked in advance.
