The farm, lake, and nature
Dahlbogården has a long and eventful history, and it is now passing into the hands of the third generation of the same family. The farm dates back to the mid-1650s and was founded by Lars Dahlbo, followed by a long line of owners.
The small lake in the field behind Dahlbogården was created just a few years ago as part of a wetland restoration and biodiversity project. The family is now eagerly following the development of plant and animal life around the lake. A walking path encircles the lake, making it easy to take a stroll and explore the surroundings. The forest closest to the lake is a designated nature conservation area, where a mix of tree species, including ancient oaks, is consciously preserved. A beech plantation has been established within the fenced area beyond the small lake.
Ecological farming and animal husbandry have long been central to the farm, and although the land is now mostly leased out, the tenants continue to practice organic farming.
For those interested, guided nature walks can be booked from the farm, offering insights into the lives of past residents as well as the flora and fauna of the area.
