Hiking
The High Coast World Heritage site is renowned for its stunning nature and breathtaking coastline, with sweeping views over cliffs and sea. In Skuleskogen National Park, you’ll find highlights like the famous Slåttdalsskrevan and the steep rock faces of Skuleberget. The High Coast Trail, also designated as the High Coast Signature Trail, passes directly by Kajkanten before winding into the park’s enchanting trails.
If you prefer less-traveled paths, the area around Köpmanholmen offers plenty of charming day hikes that loop back to Kajkanten – perfect for another night of restful sleep and great food.
Climbing
Skuleskogen National Park offers great spots for free climbing and bouldering, as well as a well-known via ferrata route for those who want to try climbing with added safety. Routes range from beginner-friendly to advanced, making it a great activity for the whole family.
Island hopping
Exploring the High Coast’s many small islands by boat is a fantastic experience. In summer, boats run several times a day, and in winter you can still visit larger islands like Ulvön.
Örnsköldsvik
In nearby Örnsköldsvik, you’ll find all the amenities of a city, including restaurants, pubs and shops. Paradiset spa and water park is a fun excursion for families with children on a rainy day.
