STF Myssjö Gård is an off-grid farm situated on the island of Myssjö in Stockholm County, surrounded by nature and one of Sweden’s cleanest lakes. You can be yourself here, whether you seek relaxation or adventure. Welcome back to nature – and to Myssjö Gård!

Myssjö Gård is situated on Myssjö Island, between Nykvarn, Södertälje and Gnesta in Stockholm County. Myssjö is the second largest island in Lake Yngern, one of the cleanest lakes in Sweden. It is one of two inhabited islands in Yngern and has been so since the 17th century.

The farm is surrounded by nature and Yngern forest lake. Come to experience the magical evening sun and just be one with nature. The moment feels near and alive, making you feel part of something bigger. Here you can find the time to experience a bit more and breathe a bit easier. And most importantly – be yourself.

Myssjö Gård is the only property on Myssjö, so we have the island all to ourselves. The farm is located about 100 meters from the mainland. We pick you up with our electric raft. We cannot guarantee that you will be the only guest on the island on your visit, but the farm is big and has many cozy spots for you to enjoy.

The farm is run by us, Sandra and Mattias Vegis. In summer, we live on the farm with our three daughters and our cat. When you visit, we will be here to welcome you and show you around.
Green is good!

The first time we saw the farm, in the summer of 2018, we fell completely in love with it. The location by the lake, the silence and the tranquility that surrounded us, despite still being in Stockholm County, was absolutely fantastic. What if we could let more people discover and appreciate this wonderful nature?

Our goal is to create a meeting place with sustainable and real nature experiences that enrich people’s lives. That is why we offer accommodation and activities that inspire you to experience the nature here.

We want Myssjö Gård to be somewhere to relax and escape the stress of everyday life for a while. Whether you want to relax or explore the area, we hope you will visit. Who knows, perhaps you will learn a bit more about yourself and appreciate nature even more. If so, we have succeeded. We look forward to welcoming you!

Accessible friendly

This accommodation is partly accessible and would like to meet the needs of all guests. However, for various reasons, they do not comply with every one of STF’s accessibility requirements. If you are interested in visiting, we recommend that you contact them before booking to find out what they can offer. In many cases, the accommodation can meet your needs, even though they are only partially compliant with our accessibility standards.

    Travel information
    Myssjö Island, where we are located, is the second largest island in Lake Yngern, which is nestled in a forest landscape with only sparse settlement.

    Hiking
    Stage 13 of the Sörmlandsled goes right past Myssjö Gård. Take public transport from Stockholm to Mölnbo, Järna or Gnesta. Hike Sörmlandsleden and spend the night with us at Myssjö. Walk a longer stage to Nykvarn town center and catch the long-distance train back to Stockholm. Alternatively, you can walk back to Mölnbo, Järna or Gnesta or pre-book a Sverigetaxi to take you to Mölnbo or Gnesta.

    By car
    The drive from central Stockholm takes about 50 minutes.
    We recommend using Google Maps for to get here, as many alternative map apps give incorrect directions. Turn in from Gnestavägen by the sign for Stora Envätten nature reserve. About 200 meters down you will see a road with a barrier on your right-hand side. We will give you the pass code for the barrier once you have booked and paid.

    Follow the signs for Myssjö Gård. There is a signposted parking area right by the pick-up site. The farm is on the other side of the lake, about 100 meters from the mainland side. Honk, call or shout when you arrive, then we will come and pick you up with our raft.
