Accommodation details
Welcome to Saltoluokta Mountain Station!
The station consists of a timbered main building from 1918 and several guest houses with a total of 100 beds. Would you like to stay in a single, double or dormitory room? Would you like to have the room cleaned and do you need bed linen? Full or half board? You can choose the service you want.
We have five guest houses: in addition to the main building, you can stay in Laponia, Gierkav, Gamla station or in Förarstugan. For those who are pitching a tent or want to cook their own food, you can access our service building Nåiden. You can read more below about each of them and see images of what it might look like when you stay with us.
Main building
The main building has three twin rooms (two single beds), six four-bed rooms and one six-bed room. In the main building you stay between timbered walls. The mountain view from the rooms’ windows is wonderful. One of the twin rooms has shower and toilet in the room, while the other rooms have a toilet in the corridor. Shower is available in the service building.
Laponia
Our recently renovated annexe Laponia contains ten twinbed rooms and one four-bed room. Here you can choose between having your own shower and toilet in the room or using the shared facilities in the corridor. This is our most comfortable accommodation. Please note that there is no guest kitchen in Laponia, instead you use the kitchen that is located in the service building.
Gierkav
In Gierkav you stay in smaller rooms with bunk beds. There are four two-bed rooms and two four-bed rooms. A total of six rooms. The building also has a self-catering kitchen. You will find showers and toilets in the corridor. You are allowed to bring your dog in the two-bed rooms. If you’re visiting with a larger group and want to stay together, you can book the entire house. In that case, please contact our booking service.
Gamla station
Our oldest building from 1912 with cosy dormitories. Gamla station contains two six-bed rooms and one four-bed room. Two of the rooms are dog friendly. This building has a simple kitchen. Toilets, showers, a sauna and a well-equipped kitchen can be found in the adjoining service building.
Förarstugan
Here you can stay in a six-bed room or in a four-bed room. Both rooms have a self-catering kitchen. It is also possible to stay with your dog here. Both rooms have a simple kitchen. Toilets, showers, a sauna and a well-equipped kitchen can be found in the adjoining service building.
Service building
Nåiden is our service building with a self-catering kitchen, showers and a sauna. From the sauna you have what is perhaps the best view in the mountain environment over the lake Langas and Stora Sjöfallet National Park. In the kitchen you can store and cook your own food which you have brought of purchased in the shop. It also has drying rooms and bathrooms.
Tent
At Saltoluokta there is plenty of space for those who want to pitch a tent. Tent may be placed no closer then 100 m from any building and you don’t need to pre-book your tent site.
For a smaller fee, 200 SEK for members and 300 SEK for non-members you can use all the facilities at the station. Children aged 6-15 pay half price (0-5 are free). If you want to eat dinner you preferably pre-book this to ensure availability. This can be done earliest 7 days before your stay by sending an e-mail to bokningen@stfturist.se. Please state name, date, number of guests and any special diet.
Wood-fired sauna by Langas
What would a mountain trip be without a relaxing sauna afterwards? Down by the mountain lake Langas is our cosy wood-fired sauna where you can take the time to relax. For those who dare it is only a stone’s throw from the lake, where you can jump in to cool off and cope with another half hour in the heat. The wood-fired sauna must be booked in advance, no later than the day before. The price is from 850 SEK depending on time and amount of persons. Please send an e-mail to saltoluokta@stfturist.se to make a reservation.
