Saltofolk Music Festival
Saltofolk is a small and authentic festival held at Saltoluokta Mountain Station, beyond the end of the road.
Since 1978, the festival has drawn folk musicians, renowned artists, enthusiasts and seasoned mountain lovers. The programme features concerts, dancing on the century-old wooden floor of the dining hall, workshops, delicious food, a vibrant atmosphere, great company, mountain views and the midnight sun in the sky.
Programme, festival pass and more information can be found on Saltofolk’s website (opens in new tab). You can book accommodation on this webpage. Tent pitches are always available and can be paid for on site.

About the festival
Saltofolk is the folk music festival at the foot of the mountains that has been held for more than forty years. Just as much as it’s about fiddle tunes and folk dancing, Saltofolk is about relaxed vibes and meaningful encounters. The foundation is folk music, but the programme also features jazz, pop, rock, hip-hop and electronic music. Seasoned folk musicians mix with hikers and locals. It’s the variety that sparks great meetings and unexpected collaborations — all set against the backdrop of the mountains and the midnight sun.
You might come to take in every part of the festival programme or you might just settle in outside the main building, enjoy a good drink and find someone nice to chat with. Wherever you feel most at home, you’re sure to find your own way to enjoy Saltofolk.
Bring your family, your group of friends or come on your own! Saltofolk is a warm and welcoming experience where you’re guaranteed to enjoy joik, folk dancing, guitar solos, the midnight sun and a sense of togetherness. Choose between staying at the charming mountain station or in a tent with views stretching toward Stora Sjöfallet. The restaurant serves locally inspired meals, and if you prefer to cook your own food, our self-catering kitchen is available. Come for the day or stay the whole weekend.
