About the accommodation

Siaröfortet Skärgårdskrog och Pensionat is located on Kyrkogårdsön, in the heart of the shipping channel between Vaxholm and Furusund. Here, you’ll experience classic Swedish archipelago life within easy reach of both Stockholm and the Roslagen coast, with rocky shores, swimming spots, great food, and a fascinating history.

Siaröfortet was built more than 100 years ago as a coastal defence fortress to protect the shipping route leading to Vaxholm. Today, the archipelago restaurant and inn are housed in the carefully restored barracks building from 1916, where the island’s rich history can still be felt within its walls.

The inn offers an authentic archipelago experience with a focus on great food, relaxation, and a welcoming atmosphere. Enjoy carefully prepared meals in a beautiful setting after a day exploring the surrounding islands. For an even more comfortable stay, full board is available. Please note that, since 2021, there is no longer a guest kitchen for self-catering.

The island is managed by the Swedish National Property Board and leased by us at Antrophia Shipping, a small shipping company run by service-minded maritime professionals with a strong focus on hospitality. Whether we’re tending the grill, serving lunch, or working on one of our boats, you’ll find us dedicated to making your stay as enjoyable as possible. Our vision is to revive the classic Swedish archipelago inn, where every guest can truly relax and feel well looked after.

Guests arriving by private boat are welcome to use both the guest harbour and the day-use jetty.

The property is open from mid-April until the end of October.

Travel information

Siaröfortet is located on Kyrkogårdsön, in the middle of the fairway between Vaxholm and Furusund. The steamboat pier / stop is called Siaröfortet.

For those who come a long way by car, you will find the best parking at Östanå Ferry location. From here you will have a 10 minutes boatride to Kyrkogårdsön and Siaröfortet.

During the spring, summer and autumn, there are daily connections with Waxholmsbolaget's regular boat trips from Strömkajen in Stockholm and Vaxholm. In summer, Siaröfortet - Antrophia also offers its own bookable transport from Vaxholm and Östanå ferry terminal. From the immediate area and Östanå, Siaröfortet - Antrophia also offers trips in addition to the regular transports.

You are of course also welcome here with your own boat. We have our own guest harbor.
