At Skepparpsgården, sustainability is at the heart of the experience. Thoughtful choices, reuse, and a strong focus on social and environmental responsibility shape everyday life on the farm. Guests are encouraged to travel collectively, hike or bike to the hostel, and enjoy a stay where both the journey and the destination are part of a more mindful, low-impact way to explore Skåne and Österlen.

The accommodation offers a discount on our breakfast to guests traveling collectively, hiking, or biking from home to the hostel. While a moment at Haväng can be fantastic, the belief is also that the journey here can be a significant part of the overall experience of Skåne and Österlen. Collective travel can often be an opportunity for relaxation and presence.

On the farm, sustainability efforts are evident in both small and large ways. Purchases and renovations are made after careful consideration. Reusing, repairing, and refurbishing are done where possible, and rooms and facilities are upgraded with care. Guests have the opportunity to contribute by sorting waste, using environmentally friendly cleaning products during cleaning. There is encouragement for zero waste in the kitchen, preferring to share leftover food with others rather than throwing it in the compost. The compact layout of the farm, with many small nooks and a small guest kitchen, easily fosters spontaneous encounters between guests, promoting social sustainability.

Overnight guests traveling from home to the hostel by public transport, on foot, or by bicycle are eligible for a reduced price on our breakfast buffet. Priced at 60 SEK/adult and 30 SEK/child, regardless of the number of nights, compared to the regular price of 125 SEK/55 SEK. To take advantage of the offer, the guest must present tickets/mode of transportation for the entire journey upon arrival.
