Enjoy locally produced mountain cuisine with panoramic views at Storulvån. In the bright restaurant and sunny veranda, you’re treated to well-prepared food from Jämtland, homemade bread and pastries, and a carefully selected drinks menu, the perfect place to relax after a day in the mountains.
Rosy-cheeked after a day on the mountain or recently arrived at Storulvån, full of expectation of what your visit to the mountains will offer – welcome to Storulvån restaurant with a view in three directions, with mountains and vast expanses just outside the window. When the sun hits theveranda it becomes a popular spot to enjoy food and drink while the stresses of civilisation slowly drift away and everyday life feels increasingly distant.
Storulvån puts a lot of love and care into producing and cooking, and focus lies on locally produced food from Jämtland. If you have questions about where the meat comes from, what recipes are used for the bread, cakes and sauces, you can just ask the staff and speak directly to the chef or the baker.
The restaurant is fully licensed and have a carefully selected range of wine, local beer and alcohol-free options.
Breakfast
Start your morning with a large breakfast buffet featuring freshly baked bread, yoghurt, porridge, eggs, several types sandwich toppings etc. The breakfast bakers make fresh bread every morning and the breakfast is open between 07.00 – 9.30.
Packed lunches and lunch
If you are going out into the mountains you can buy a packed lunch. You get a lunch bag with “jägarsnus” (raisins, peanuts and chocolate) and a brownie that you then top up with that you like best from the breakfast buffet. On days when you want to eat at the station, there is tasty, hearty Swedish home cooking to enjoy each day. The lunch is served everyday between 12.00 until 14.00.
Coffee and pastries and bar menu
In addition to the delicious breakfast bread, there are always home-made cakes and sweet things to buy in the restaurant. Perhaps the home-made waffles will go nice with a cup of coffee? Coffee and cakes are available all day, as long as the restaurant is open. In addition to this, if you are hungry after your outing or just want a quick bite before your departure there is also a variety of smaller dishes such as hamburgers, wraps and toasts.
Dinner
In the evening, a delicious dinner menu based on locally produced ingredients, is served between 17.00 until 20.00.
The dinner is a well-prepared main course. Including bread, butter, sallad & coffee. With the possibility to buy a dessert afterwards if you still are hungry. Are you interested in vegetarian alternatives or have special diets you need to contact Storulvån before arrival.
